Speaking of scrapbooking, I did get a navy blue one and will have it embossed with, of course, gold foil!

I'm going to a crop tomorrow, too! I can't wait!

FL got hit pretty hard with the weather. They're saying central FL on the news, but my dad, who lives there, says most damage was on the east coast. How was GA? Any bad weather?

No freezing rain, did get some hard rain. The big pond is full now and will get the bubba burn through the back woods this weekend. For those not fimiliar with South Georgia, a bubba burn is a rolling fire with fire breaks. A bubba who gets tired of watching the fire walk into the wind will go up wind and watch the fire take off.

Mom2Lola - She got her LOA, a nom from congressman and Senator Boxer - but no official paperwork in the mail yet. Just waiting. But, she's told she really is "in" and it's just a matter of paperwork catching up with reality.

Yes, I look forward to comparing notes with USNA p's; WP p's; CGA p's; MMA p's and fellow AFA p's!

Scrabooking has taken new meaning once I realized she'll be gone in only a few months. Suddenly the camera is out all the time! Next I'll sneak in her room as she sleeps to get that photo too! (She'd likely string me up for that too! - what she doesn't know won't hurt her!).

Lot's of CA and GA around here!

Nurseypoo - just crumble those yummy brownies up and use 'em as an icecream topper - kinda defeats the purpose of the Spenda but, heck - your kids going to USNA - you can splurge on ice cream!

South GA? I'm a Valdosta relative, myself.

Hey cousin! Family tree roots are thin around here!!!

SOME of us can only type one line or so--I just had major hand surgery.I enjoy the parents' threads--some folks need a new hobby than doesn't involve nasty words to others...

MomfoHopeful2011....when you have your spycam. ...er... I mean scenery cam at the USAFA, would you mind getting a few scenery pics with my cadet, and emailing them to me?

USAFA 2011 Appointee dad here.

MomofHopeful2011 yep empty nester here, hobbie such as flying to Colorado works...mine's flying/diving to Annapolis. Going in 3 weeks for the Musical! As if we need an excuse :D

Heartcross- I hope you're healing and recovering. What a beast to have had hand surgery. You okay?

RJ2011- Cousin! Where're you at?

MomofHopeful- See? That's why I hang out here! What a perfect solution for my brownie disaster. My frown is turned up side down! Good idea about taking the camera into his bedroom. He will kill me, but if I take his car keys, he can't catch me! If it was a foot race, that long legged giraffe would catch me in two steps.

Now .. I am liking mixing it up with you parents from all academies! And more USAFA hopefuls! CONGRATS TO YOU GUYS TOO!

I think I shall make a new home here at the PARENTS Threads.. A lil cozier for me I think. Unless my one-liners are called for back at the other :) WHY DIDNT SOMEONE TELL ME YOU ALL WERE HERE EARLIER?

Your one-liners are always needed. I still bop back and forth, but you had us at "one-liner."

Albany, or should I say "All-bin-eee!!"

you guys are cracking me up! I'm not getting anything done today reading and talking and chatting with y'all! And I gotta get on a plane in four hours and haven't packed yet!

Stealth - of course I'll take photo's and share - but with your name, I bet you'd be less likely to get caught then me! ha ha

heartcross - hope you heal soon - in the meantime, I'm pretty good at getting more than one line in edgewise so I'll make up for you!

With all that said - I gotta exit - stage left (or is it right!). Be back on Monday - visiting my mom in the dark ages with no computer (and no internet. . . .) I think she has chalk though! My D is coming with me and she may just end up DQ'd by DoDMRB given the computer withdrawl she'll go through this weekend!

Hi Georgia folks! Good to see some other Southerners here! (Of course we love y'all yankees on here also - I'm just being neighborly!).

RJ - are you in N. Ga or S. Ga.?? I am an alumna of a North Georgia College & Emory University in Atlanta. Those are my old stompin' grounds.

Anyway - WELCOME to all parents of 2011!! Cheers to all of you - later this evening I will lift my glass in your honor!

--Is there a "one line limit" on this thing?? :)

Ah - my question was answered as I was posting!

South Georgia, peanut, cotton and pine trees. Also, look twice because when you see one deer there is at least two more.

BZ.. Atlanta here! Wow.. we are really representin' today :)

Uh, I'm from CA.

BZ ...also Georgia USNA plebe parent and you?
