for many of us starting this fall, its probably the first time we're going to have to face the washing machine......

....so i was wondering if we could get a collection of tips going from all the moms on stuff you think would be handy to know....not just about laundry

willow, in my limited laundering experience, your advice comes as, well, way too complicated and hard to remember. especially for us guys out there.

i went to boarding school at age 14. until told otherwise, i threw alll of my clothes in the same wash, darks, colors, you name it! my mother was absolutely appalled, and so we spent a saturday going over how to do laundry.

that said, the laundry machines at most schools will help you through. Instead of "hot" and "cold" buttons, there are "dark clothes" and "whites" buttons.

Youll definitely need a taser, stun gun, pepper spray, night stick, extendable baton (in either 16 or 18 inch)...or you could just stay in your room

Prepster,
I know. During summer school, many people were doing their laundry for the first time. Much assistance was required by the guys. Don't moms ever make guys help with the laundry?

"When you want to look cool with your sunglasses, and you left them in your car out in the sun, don't put them on right away. Cool them first, or you can blow a blood vessel in your eye."

Yes, this is typical advice I get from my mother dearest.

I always sleep with wet hair and my pillow is mold free. They build something into them to resist that sort of stuff, and double pillowcases work well too.
