Money matters: International students and need-aware colleges

so I’ve got a general question regarding the costs of attending college in the states. Being internationals we sure are in some cases at a disadvantage (or advantage if applicable) so how much does being able to pay the full cost of the entire 4 years factor in the admission process? Personally I can pay the full cost, but I’m asking just for the benefit of other internationals (I’m a nice guy, tyvm) I’m asking this question especially with need aware schools in mind.
Any feedbacks are greatly appreciated.

You will Not get a lot of responses to your question.

See the thing is, whenever I ask for a “chance” one if the first few things asked is whether I can afford it, so that got me thinking, does moment really play much of a role in admission? I mean, literally everyone asks so, so I just wanted to clarify.

This post is not meant to hurt anybody, just a general clarification which I hope can be beneficial to everyone

Sorry I commented and now I want to delete my comment and I can’t figure out how to so I’m just gonna leave this here… Hope you find an answer to your question

Yeah, many internationals have this tendency of thinking that to succeed you need a degree from the best college (ivies Stanford etc) I too once had this notion until I realized that education is not based on prestige alone but quality. Sure you get quality from Ivies and whatnot, but there are many other schools that offer equally well placed programs (CU Boulder, ASU etc) but then the next questiOn that arises is the cost of education, Boulder in particular has a high Tution fee for OOS. And being need aware, the ability to pay does in fact play a role in admission (according to what I’ve seen on the net) I’ll agree with you in going to college that offers the best deal, but this mindset is quite uncommon amongst internationals I’ve met(not everyone cuz I cannot judge everyone based on just a few). Thanks for the input

Being full pay is a HUGE advantage.
An international who needs financial aid is competing for very limited funds that will only be allocated to a handful of students.
An international who is full pay is either on par with domestic applicants (top 25 universities/LACs) or may even have an advantage (national colleges ranked in the 30’s to 70s.)
