Montana Tech or South Dakota School of Mines for Mining Engineering?

Which one of these schools should I go to for mining engineering? My research says they are comparable in companies that recruit and cost of attendance. Which has the best mining engineering program?

I also considered New Mexico Tech, but they only had two mining companies at their career fair versus 15+ at Montana Tech and South Dakota School of Mines.

I know nothing of Montana Tech but I am very familiar with SDSM&T.

Great program, as you no doubt have heard. Small school and therefore much personal attention. Lots of intellectual diversity among the student body. Active and fun campus life. Very well regarded by employers. The only drawback? By plane it is hard as the dickens to get to (though that doesn’t keep away company recruiters). Transferring through Denver or Minneapolis is a real drag. Interestingly, connecting through Dallas is reportedly much less stressful. You’ll find mining companies like Barrick Gold (among others) coming to Mines.
