<p>Moran Names 2007 Service Academy Selection Board Interviews Of U.S. Service Academy Candidates Planned For October 6 (DeLany Fawkes ’66; Christopher D. Orwoll ‘86)</p>

<p>27Sep07 - The following information was released by the office of Kansas Rep. Jerry Moran:</p>

<p>Congressman Jerry Moran today announced the 2007 First District Service Academy Selection Board. The 16-member board reviews applications and interviews candidates who are applying for admission to U.S. Service Academies. These include the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. </p>

<p>"I am always impressed by the quality of character and level of intelligence of the young people who want to attend a military academy and devote a large part of their life in service to our nation," Moran said. "The men and women who make up this year's Service Academy Selection Board will meet with many outstanding young Kansans."</p>

<p>The board will meet to interview candidates on Saturday, October 6 at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Library in Abilene. </p>

<p>Following interviews, the board will make recommendations to Moran for his final decision. </p>
