More likely to take catholics?

as the admission decisions are nearing i’m getting more and more anxious. i live in california, and my college counselor said that for some reason many of her qualified students that applied to BC were rejected, and that the only students she’s had get in were all catholic. is BC more likely to accept a student out of state if they’re catholic?

I hope so ;). But in all honesty, OOS makes little difference in private/Catholic schools.

no i know, i just meant that my counselor made it sound like being out of state puts you at a disadvantage because most of her students got denied by BC and the only ones that got in were catholic. i was asking if being catholic gives you some kind of an edge haha i hope it does! one of my essays was about church and how i’m catholic haha

Denied applicants will look for an excuse: “I was denied because I’m Protestant, not because I wasn’t good enough”. It makes the bitter pill go down easier.

Honestly, I doubt it really matters. And I’m a Catholic OOS attending a parochial high school.

It doesn’t matter. The Jesuits take all including non christians and aetheists. BC’s an elite college with stiff competition. It was just a numbers thing. GL
