More Medical Stumbles

Well i got my medical records from my former psychiatrist and glanced overthem before i put my name/SSN on the paper. I read something that triggered a click in my brain. I forgot that back in 2002 i was seeing a counselor for my issues (DoDMERB DQd “history of mood disorder”) so i figured id need her mental health records.

I called the place that she worked at and found out she is no longer with the agency. Even worse, they have NO RECORD of my ever going there!!!

At first i didnt think it would be a problem but since my psychiatrist mentioned that i visited her, i need to do something about it.

GAH!!!

Call and e-mail the DodMERB. Even with an E-mail they should let you know very quickly. Just explain the problem and will be able to help you out. They have a great reputation for that. ;)

I kept calling different places and i think i found what i need. I had to fill out htis release form and mail it to them. Then i can pickup my files. I hope its the real ones not just an "Empty" file they generate.

Gah now, LOAs are going out i need to get this stuff finished! I hate waiting to do something when im waiting for OTHER people.

Lets put it simply...i hate waiting.

Snip - take a deep breath. Remember it's still way early. We're all here pulling for you!

If they didn't even make a record of you being there, you might not even need to put it on the form. Ask your ALO about it. The questions on those medical sheets only want to know about actually diagnosed conditions, or things that you actually got treatment for.

For instance if it asked, "Have you ever had a concussion?" it doesn't mean something like, "Yeah, I've hit my head really hard once and blacked out for a second"; it wants things like, "I hit my hard really hard once and went to the hospital or saw a doctor about it.

But again, ask your ALO. If you have one (?)
