I have a difficult decision between Berkeley and LA...Cal is giving me twice (almost full ride) as much as UCLA but I really want to go to LA. Is there any way to get more money from UCLA? Scholarships? I didn't get invited to regents, and I don't think I was selected for the alumni one, I applied.

Go to the place where you will be happy. Worry about money later.

Best 4 years of your life, blah blah blah, you’ve heard it all before. Don’t waste it because you’re worried about your pocket book.

if youre low income, i heard that the new blue and gold opportunity plan will be helpful at any uc, which makes the choice based on your personal choice not financial choice.

But I don’t really hate Cal either, and it seems a waste to throw all of that money away since the money I’m getting from Cal is coming from the Regents Scholarship.

this shouldn’t be a matter of throwing money away…

if you want to go to UCLA, go to UCLA and have a blast doing it.

Damn, I’ll trade fin aid packages with you, I’m in opposite situation, UCLA is giving way more. Lame.

Maybe try calling UCLA/sending a letter and tell them how Cal is giving you twice as much money - see if they’ll match?

price matching schools.

to UCLA boi: Don’t you want to go to LA? (based on username)

The privileges that come with the regents aren’t that important right? or are they pretty good? (besides money). My sister did tell me to do something along the lines of asking UCLA to give me more because cal is, but wouldn’t that be…rude?

Well, the reason why I feel like I would be “throwing all that money away” is because Cal is giving me almost a full ride. About $20000 and it’s renewable O_o
