i’m in-state but i still haven’t gotten an email!

I’m in-state and haven’t heard anything either… Why do you think this might be?

That’s very odd.
Mine came at 4:29 even though it was a rejection.

Good luck to both of you though! I know the suspense is killer.

Does anyone know if the e-mail is sent to the student only or does a parent also get an e-mail? Just curious…no e-mail received as of yet.

I know someone who lives thirty minutes from me who already found out. Do self-nominees find out later than school-nominees?

I’m a school nominee that hasn’t heard. Strangely though the other school nominee has. He was rejected.

Just found out I’m a semi-finalist.

I am a semi-finalist too. I am very excited and I can’t wait for the interview.

I have heard it is very conversational. Does anyone know anything about it?

Hey guys, I’m a current Morehead at Carolina. Feel free to PM me for advice about interviews or questions about the scholarship. The best piece of advice I can give is to simply ACCEPT IT if you get it.

OldWell,
I just sent you a PM. Are you OOS or in-state?
Thank you for offering to help!
:)

I wasn’t chosen as an OOS finalist… oh, well. It sucks to have rejection be the first news you get, but at least I made it to the semi-finalist round!

And as far as the interview…for OOS, it was a phone interview. It was about 30 minutes, and entirely about extracurriculars/what you do outside of school. The interview has your application in front of them, and asks you specific questions based on the activities and essays on your application, as well as some other “creative questions”. It was pretty interesting, although quite unusual–I wasn’t asked a single question about anything academic!

Anyway, good luck to all of you continuing in the competition. I, unfortunately, will most likely not be joining you at UNC.
