Morrill Scholars Program Chance?

I am not even close to being racially diverse (just a normal white female living in a normal suburban city), my parents are married, etc. I have really good grades and extracurriculars, and have a good shot at being valedictorian. I didn’t think I would have a chance at the Morrill Scholarship, but I applied and wrote an essay anyway (I am a pretty good essay writer) about how I could diversify the campus with my strong religious (Catholic) beliefs. Has anyone gotten the scholarship for something similar to this, or think I have a close chance? I know I probably don’t, but I would love a full tuition scholarship, so I had to try, and I am keeping my hopes up for now.

I have never heard of a white applicant getting the scholarship, unless they were from the Ohio Appalachian region. Also, I would say Catholicism is a common religion on campus. Anything tied with Christianity, actually.
It never hurts to apply, though! Good luck. :)
