which is the best/most convenient bank to use near brown? i know i’ve seen this discussed before, but i couldnt find it… sorry!

bank of america i hear

bank of america by far, there's an ancient ATM in faunce, and a few right near the bookstore. And when you sign up during orientation, they give you free everything.

i signed up with sovereign - although branches near me are far and few in between, i found them very easy to deal with and a plus is that they don't charge you per transaction - bank of america does...

they charge you per transaction? i use bank of america and i have yet to see that.

maybe its cause you signed up with them during orientation like iwannabe_Brown said

i didn't, i signed up here at home a few weeks before orientation. that's odd.

How is it BOA by far? I would say Sovereign by far! They have a branch on thayer, and two ATM spots. Everything has been free. Where is BOA branch near campus anyways?

Well, there's the huge BOA downtown by Kennedy Plaza, I think. But it's pretty convenient to have the BOA atms in Faunce and the Bookstore. Unless you want to actually talk to a person after creating you account (in which case i guess you'd go sovereign) , I'm not sure whether one has an advantage of the other. I'm fine with BOA, and everyone seems fine with Sovereign. I just like BOA cuz they're all over the place back home, too.

citizens

HTH

also, BoA is a lot bigger nationally. Citizens I'd never even heard of before Brown, and BoA may have surpassed starbucks in the number of branches it has in NYC.

Citizens is fine.

So what to get? BoA since its in Fauce seems the most convenient since im in Keeney, right?

There is only an ATM. Thats not enough for me, I think having an actual bank to go to, ie Sovereign, is best. I don't like to make deposits without handing it to a real person. You'll be on thayer all the time, anyways.

people can't walk? i find this silly.

there's a sovreign branch on thayer? I thought they just had that little ATM booth thing. There are BoA brances down the hill.

Sov is moving in where Allegra used to be (on Thayer and Waterman) I believe.
