Most ridiculous "extra curricular" I have ever heard...

It’s awfully arrogant of you to assert that an observation has no value unless it’s made by a “leading researcher.” He’s relating a personal anecdote, not publishing a thesis. Are you a “leading researcher?” Why should I listen to anything you have to say?

So is saying “I am really not interested.”

A couple seconds of interaction a month x 12 months (assuming your home has no other members who open the door sometimes) = a few minutes a year, allowing for you getting up and walking to the door. Get over yourself.

No rebuttal to this?

Is it more often, or does it just seem like more often, or does the frequency still follow a random pattern that is not statistically significantly different from “once a month?” Since your Jewish friends aren’t “leading researchers” I will dismiss their claims.

Um.

I’m assuming going on mission trips with one’s church would be a perfectly acceptable EC, though, right?

…

Double standards FTW.

@Poseur: Yes…you’re not causing any sort of uninvited disturbances so i would assume it is perfectly acceptable…

^False assumption. On one mission trip I went on, one daughter in a household plainly didn’t want us to be there. We fixed her family’s house anyway.

“No one’s ordering you to agree with anyone, but it’d make everything more pleasant if you didn’t counter unintentional rudeness with intentional rudeness. Besides, time spent is time spent, whether you like its purpose or not. By your argument in the OP, one could conclude that a person could count political campaigning if it were for a Democrat but not if it were for a Republican (or vice versa).”

i have no idea what you are saying so i didnt bother to rebuttal

“A couple seconds of interaction a month x 12 months (assuming your home has no other members who open the door sometimes) = a few minutes a year, allowing for you getting up and walking to the door. Get over yourself.”

yes but those minutes per year are precious and it sucks having them wasted on slamming the door on them

“Is it more often, or does it just seem like more often, or does the frequency still follow a random pattern that is not statistically significantly different from “once a month?” Since your Jewish friends aren’t “leading researchers” I will dismiss their claims.”

good for you.

“Is it more often, or does it just seem like more often, or does the frequency still follow a random pattern that is not statistically significantly different from “once a month?” Since your Jewish friends aren’t “leading researchers” I will dismiss their claims.”

they are leading researchers.

“Are you a “leading researcher?” Why should I listen to anything you have to say?”

yes. majority of people would agree with me. you dont have to listen to anything i say. in fact, you dont even have to visit this thread. you cantotally ignore me. your choice. no one says you should listen to what i have to say. for all i care, go visit the watchtower or watch tv. i dont care.

where’s your statistics on the majority of people agreeing with you? You ask them from me, yet you present none yourself.

No studies of the sort has been done like no studies have on hindus or catholics or atheists… besides it’s be too damaging to mainstream christianity.

Yes i can ignore you. However I choose not to. Why? Because you make JWs look like a bunch of weirdos who are comparable to criminals (as you need to threaten to call the cops on them). I said they are trying to help you. I never said they are achieving it. Stop distorting facts, and their religion and I will say no more. You don’t have to agree with them, nor do you have to agree with them. Just don’t bash them for no good reason when you don’t even know any of them (telling them to F off and slamming the door doesn’t count).

Sure it’s annoying to you even though you told them you don’t want them to come anymore and yet they still do. I’m not saying it’s good that they do, but take this example: your mom tells you that spinach is good for you and you should eat it. However, you really hate spinach and told your mom to never tell you again. Your mom will still tell you the next time you have spinach though, because she knows it’s good for you. Jehovah’s witnesses thinks that what they’re doing is good for you, so even though you don’t want them to tell you, they still come.

Hm, would you say that blogging is a ridiculous extracurricular if you do it a lot and you’ve run your site for five years?

“you make JWs look like a bunch of weirdos who are comparable to criminals (as you need to threaten to call the cops on them)”

yes because they are my house ringing the doorbell for 2-3 minutes and on my property.

“I said they are trying to help you.”

i say they are annoying me and many others.

“You don’t have to agree with them, nor do you have to agree with them. Just don’t bash them for no good reason when you don’t even know any of them”

i know 4 who go to my school.

“your mom tells you that spinach is good for you and you should eat it. However, you really hate spinach and told your mom to never tell you again. Your mom will still tell you the next time you have spinach though, because she knows it’s good for you. Jehovah’s witnesses thinks that what they’re doing is good for you, so even though you don’t want them to tell you, they still come.”

nope, my mom lets me eat anything i want. there is a difference between what is actually good for me and what people think is good for me. its been scientifically proven that eating spinach has helpful benefits.

[benefits of spinach - Google Search](<a href=“Google Search”>Google Search)

we need to get the word out to JWs that what they are doing is not for our best interests even though they themselves believe it so.

video of violent crazy jehovahs witnesses

What was there not to understand? do i have to type like this and not use big words for you to get it

Yeah, I’m sure you’d be using them to cure AIDS you leading researcher you.

This argument is stupid for so many reasons that it’s impossible to focus on just one. However, if you really want the majority opinion, I think most people don’t get as p.issy about it as you do, and the Supreme Court happened to rule on their side.

HAHAHAWHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAWHYWFHWAKEJFWAEFLKWJFLWAJF @ this whole post.
Wow, wait, Jehovah’s Witnesses are all really nice people! OMG that must mean that their beliefs are something that I’d like to have pushed on me! Wow! Just because they’re forced to SHUN everyone that is not a JW in their family/friends/acquiantances/EVERYONE, that doesn’t mean that they’re not nice people! And I do love nice people! Oh yeah, and you know that it’s also UNGODLY to have blood transfusions even if it means that you’ll die without one? Yeah… I totally agree with that. I hope I become a JW one day, then maybe I can die without an organ transplant that I need, or I can never vote again, and then I can even DETEST flags! Because, you know, American flags are soooo bad and even looking at them would mean that we’re worshipping it! And it’s such a sin to celebrate ANYTHING, like birthdays, Christmas, etc, but it is completely great to celebrate anniversaries! And that makes so much sense! When I’m a JW, maybe I’ll get sucked into “voluntarily” contributing to the Watchtower organization. I hope so… I do love them. And then I’ll be forced to try and convert people! Yay. I love cults.
/annoyed.

This thread…has turned into something of an epic failure.

lol at your post. Let me ask you, how much of the stuff you have there is actually told to you by a jehovah’s witness?

I wouldn’t call knocking on doors shunning everyone, dude. You’d be absolutely stupid to think that. I am not jehovah’s witness myself, yet some of them are still my friends. Again, don’t trust what everyone else says about jehovah’s witnesses.

Mainstream christianity just doesn’t what JWs to be widespread, and so they spread romours about how jehovah’s witnesses suck, and those romours get passed around. People are scared to actually listen to them in fear of being convinced into joining a cult.

But what is a cult? Jehovahs witnesses don’t pay to become one. They don’t commit suicide like some cults. They don’t do anything harmful to others (besides knocking on doors, but weather that’s harmful or not is debatable). So how are they a cult? Only because they are different from mainstream christianity?

Mainstream Christianity is more of a cult. Seriously, you get annoyed by them knocking your doors, and offering free stuff, but not those people coming in front of your face putting that little bag in front of you pressuring you to “donate”!!! You are crazy.

And believe it or not, they are volunteering to distribute watchtowers. Why would they do it if they don’t want to? There’s no benefit in becoming a Jehovah’s witness, in fact, most of the world don’t like them much because of rumours.

Christmas is believed to have pagan roots, and in the 2 times the bible mentioned birthdays, someone died. They believe that’s a signal for not celebrating birthdays.

But as a JW put it: “Why do we have to celebrate birthdays or christmas? Why can’t we celebrate, and get together with family EVERYDAY”?

Besides, how is it right for america to invade Iraq and “help” them while it’s so bad of JWs to knock on your door politely? I don’t get that logic. Please explain.

or I can never vote again, and then I can even DETEST flags!

[quote]
You can do what ever you want. No one is stopping you. Just don’t provide false information on a group.

And they don’t detest flags. Where the hell did you hear that.
You manipulate your post to make it seem like their organization is controlling you to do so. That is so not true. If they don’t want to vote, they don’t have to. And they don’t, because they have a common belief. It’s not that they can’t, is they don’t believe they should.

And you’re annoyed? You, the person who post with that sarcastic tone, distorting and manipulating facts to make a group of people seem bad, at a post that merely tries to make clear of their purpose?

All of you people seriously. Look at yourselfs. Your not perfect. Far from it. You can learn a thing or two from others, you know. You aren’t the smartest person in the world, stop acting so arrogant, like you know better than everyone else, because you don’t. If you actually sat down and listened to what they had to offer, perhaps you wouldn’t be this way.

Or perhaps you would. CC is far too arrogant. They think conservatives can’t change their thinking? They themselves are brainwashed by media and cannot change their little arrogant selves…

i got a warning from cc so i am not going to say much more in this thread… but the video is real. i know one of the guys in it.

No one uses two+ cameras to tape a prank and then edits the footage. It was obviously staged.

no one? no one uses two cameras to do pranks? hmmm. i guess all pranks according to you must use only one and only one camera.

WHO ARE JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES?

The central CORE doctrine of the Watchtower, the reason they came into existence was to proclaim Jesus Christ second coming in 1914.They will now deny that they ever made this claim, that’s called BAIT AND SWITCH

The Watchtower is BIG money, being one of the top 40 New York City Corporations making nearly one billion dollars a year. That’s just from one of their many corporations. They pay no municipal taxes on their buildings, without even one charity to compensate the community.

Most Church’s don’t pay taxes either, but most mainstream churches are abundant in humanitarian charities.Think if you have ever seen a Jehovah Witness food pantry or soup kitchen for the needy?

For 50 plus years the masthead of the Watchtower, viewed when you opened up to the inside front cover would read as follows:

“This magazine(Watchtower) builds up confidence in the Creators PROMISE of a peaceful and secure “new world” before the generation “that witnessed” the EVENTS OF 1914 passes away”".
By their own admission the Watchtowers has published this dogma in hundreds of millions of pieces of their own literature.

They deleted this false Adventist millerite derived prophecy in 1995 because it had FAILED.

The Watchtower leadership has “purged” hundreds of thousands of followers over the years for failing to uphold the 1914 (Jesus came to power) loyalty oath to this now defunct dogma.

The Bible clearly warns to turn away from false prophets.

Danny Haszard Jehovah’s Witness X 33 years [WATCHTOWER JEHOVAH’S WITNESS WHISTLE BLOWER](http://www.dannyhaszard.com)

like you.

about the 1914 event, they’ve told me about it, and I’ve accepted their explanation. however i forgot it. I will ask a JW either today or sometime soon, and I will reply. They didn’t actually say that Jesus will COME TO EARTH though. They haven’t abandoned the 1914 thing either. Many times if you go to a Kingdom hall, you will hear the speaker say something about 1914 and Jesus becoming the Ruler of heaven or something like that.

and the WatchTower doesn’t cost anything. I got a few hundred of them and i paid 0 cents. People willingly donate. I wouldn’t call that profit. it’s not forced like other protestant churches or catholic ones.

also the “profit” goes to building more kingdom halls, publishing more articles, translation the bible to different languages… the list could go on and on.

LOL, my brother and I literally collapsed from laughter after reading that.

IV: How is any one religion any more of a “cult” than any other?
