does anybody know when they will release financial aid package info?

@CaribbeanSun: I post this in case it might be helpful.
Log in to ISIS. Click on “Financial Aid Online”. Find “First Time User” on the left side, under the Logging in box.
Complete the instructions: Create a PIN for yourself in the end.
Then, go back to the FAO page, enter your Username (same as ISIS), Password: your new PIN.

Oh and, the student ID to activate your account is also the same Username for ISIS.

There it is.

@thinktry yeah I tried doing that numerous of times, but it says my ID is invalid. I contacted the office already, hope they reply on Monday

^^ when you copy your id, please make sure there is no extra space on the end.

I am so confused. What does “total resources” mean? Do you subtract aid and scholarships from that or from the total budget?

I am no financial aid advisor, but believe “total resources” is what MHC has figured as your family’s contribution.

You would want to take TOTAL BUDGET (your annual costs) and then subtract out any financial aid that they have offered in the section below. The remaining amount should be what you’ll need to come up with. It should be the “total resources” amount plus “remaining need”, if I am understanding this correctly… If you got outside scholarships from other sources, I believe you are able to apply them to reduce that amount.

(And if you’re adding up ALL expenses, don’t forget to add in health insurance. MHC’s is $1655, I think, or you can get a waiver and stay on your current plan if it meets the criteria.)

Someone correct me if I am wrong!

If I subtract the financial aid from the total budget, I get way less than what the “total resources” plus “remaining need” (remaining need says $0). This is why I am very confused.

It says (Note: If you have financial aid listed below and the “Total Resources” listed above exceed your budget, you may determine your approximate net cost by subtracting any grant, scholarship and loan aid from the budget.)

My total resources is less than the budget. The way I am reading it is that you only subtract from the budget if your resources are more than the budget. I am just so confused…

@lovex222 - just get in touch with FA Monday and they can explain it to you. I think all of our packages look different, so it’s probably best to review it with a FA officer at the school. It IS a bit confusing! Many congrats to the new posters who have been accepted! @CaribbeanSun - yes, I will probably ask to be bumped to fall admission if they have space. If I go, I want to enter with the Class of 2018 freshmen from Day 1 if at all possible. If we do that, our request would be met before the wait-listers, I believe. I plan to ask some questions next week about everything. Do you think you will go? My parents & I need to go over the financials too still.

I am confused. I thought Mount Holyoke was supposed to meet 100% need? My family is definitely definitely not well off and my EFC is about $10000-$15000. However, my financial package, including loans and employment only amounts to $18923. This is extremely disappointing and disheartening.

@SunnyFloridaGirl My financial aid package is less than satisfactory… so there’s a chance I might not be able to go. I don’t know if I should appeal or if that’s even a thing

^^ are u international? That’s might be the reason.

Okay big question: Do they charge spring admits the full year tuition? Or just half? Because seeing as we won’t be here for half a year, it seems ridiculous to ask students to pay for a full year of tuition. Does anybody know anything about this?

Payment plan.

@txhandan sorry, can you elaborate?

Do you guys know if there is a Facebook page for accepted students?

^^ Check it out here: https://www.mtholyoke.edu/sfs/cost/payment-of-bill

@CaribbeanSun They give need based on what they think you need.

@Anness - My D just found the facebook group, Mount Holyoke Class of 2018. She said search “Holyoke 2018” and that it’s a closed group but they’ll add you pretty quickly!

@Caribbeansun and other spring admits- if it makes you feel any better I was accepted for spring admit to Colgate back in the day. I didn’t feel like I missed out on toooo much. You can take college courses and transfer the credits to try to graduate at the same time as usual (also, AP/IB classes can get you credit, I think.)

Also, here’s a link to spring admit FAQs: https://www.mtholyoke.edu/admission/congratulations/spring_faq

@staceyneil Thank you!
