Move-In & Good Luck

Well, I'm in the airport getting ready to head home. Move-in went incredibly well. Son2 is settled in and he and the new roomate are circling each other in a friendly if wary way.

I want to commend the SC staff for how smoothly evertything went yesterday. I also want to wish all the new freshmen good luck. You're about to start the best journey of your young lives. Enjoy the ride.

To my fellow parents, it's a bittersweet day. We've gotten them to the starting line and in some ways yesterday was our last act as full-time parents. From here on we're advisors and coaches. We'll always be part of the game even if our seats have moved back from the front row.

Time to board. If you're on my flight, say hello. I' ll be the one feeling old.

I completely feel you, vinceh.

I dropped off my DD on Monday and felt the move-in went pretty smoothly too! Everyone was excited and helpful, and RA’s were great sources of information.

Really missing my DD, and feeling old too. Very bittersweet.
