One of my colleges (Colorado College) notified me through email that they have extended the deadline to Nov. 12 for EA. I even called the admissions office and confirmed this. But it is not reflected on the common app, which still states Nov. 10 as the deadline; when I emailed Common App, they said that they did not hear from Colorado College that they had pushed the date. Yet, when I asked the admissions office at Colorado College why it was not showing up on the Common App, they said it was not updated yet and that I could still apply by Nov. 12. However, since the Common App doesn’t reflect this I’m scared it won’t let me submit it after Nov. 10.
What is one to do?
Don’t wait til the last minute to apply.
Ask yourself why you don’t trust the college? They sent an email and confirmed verbally.
The primary source is always the most valid source. Secondary sources, in this case, the Common App, rely on info from the primary source. If the college told you the deadline is extended, then the deadline is extended. That said, don;t wait until 11:59 on the 12th to submit. Good luck.
Always best to submit a couple days ahead when possible anyway, so there is time to call and iron out glitches.
Thank you all for the input! My computer has been having trouble charging, which is why I was planning on submitting later (I have to finish one of my supplementals but in order to do so I have to wait for my computer to slowly charge). However, I already submitted the Common App (just not the writing part). Thanks!
@bonjour1 Do you have access to another computer? If not, you might use one at the public library to make sure you can finish your application sooner rather than later.
