i think its much easier to move from east to west than it is from west to east.

It is the "pushpinned" thread, the very first one "Now that decisions"

im moving from the east to montreal, so its something like that. really i think its a huge adjustment for an easterner(in my case new yorker) to go to west coast. its a whole different style of living and being. i wear black on occasion and sometimes dressier stuff, and in california i was instantly pegged as a goth, which is kind of crazy, but whatever. if your in new york dont expect a lot of smiles from people and ****, its just not cool. if someone smiled at me aside from an attractive like 18 year old chick, id think its kind of weird. oh and dont be suprised if you hear the phrase california sucks, which it does, no offense

Wow, thanks, cangel. I somehow managed to completely missed that! Ian, that would explain why some New Yorkers looked at me funny last time I visited. I smile and greet random strangers all the time. They must get over that quickly though, because they reciprocated...

sometimes, its just kind of weird to see, i wouldnt normaly expect sometimes. sometimes if people approach i just respond, es tut mir leid, ich verstehe kein englisch, so ich kann dir nicht heilfen, auf wiedersehen. that german comes in handy, espessially with the bums, sorry im really high while writing this
