wasn't really sure where to put this...I might be moving during the winter and will switch schools, and I'm wondering what will happen if the school from which I apply is different from the school from which I graduate?? Obviously I'll have to tell the colleges I apply to my new address, but what else will I have to do? Anybody been in this situation before?

Are u moving out of state?

yeah...different state.

I moved to a different town the summer before my senior year and as a result changed schools my last year in high school. There might be some discrepancies in your new schools as to your rank, because different high schools calculate gpa in different ways, some have honors classes that carry more weight etc. you get the point. Well, what happened to me is that I got a lower estimated rank than I would have had I stayed in my old school. Hope that doesn't happen to you.

thanks for the info...I'm really hoping that doesn't happen to me. Do you think/know it affected your chances for colleges at all?? also, anybody know what will happen if my intended senior schedule changes mid-year? If my new school offers less rigorous courses, will that affect admissions decisions?? I know there's a mid-year report, so obviously they'll find out...I realize this probably isn't such a huge deal, but it'd be nice to know the steps to go through if everything I put on my applications about my current schedule/school changes.

I really don't know how the colleges will look at your application when you change schools half-way through your senior year, but if they get transcripts and school profiles from both high schools, they will be able to compare the courses they offer and hopefully show some understanding.

Luckily for me, I was accepted to all the schools I applied to and will be attending the college of my choice next month.
