What Marian said.

JHS, as you know, I am only a recent emigrant to the Bay Area, and still recent to the land of the fruits and nuts. For the rest of my life, I grew up in places that do qualify as very friendly and welcoming. Of course, according to my friend TheDad who has made himself rare around here, the downside is that “my” places have less culture than a jar of Danone yoghurt.

And, just as you, when time will come to chose a more permanent place, I seriously doubt that it will be in either coast. Actually, I am 100 percent sure it will never be on the eastern coast and especially nowhere near the Big Apple. No jealousy nor envy involved; it is simply not a place I find attractive unless one can afford to live well above the common mortals.

If all fails, I’d rather jump over that small Atlantic pond. :)
