just 49$ and u get : 128 MB built in flash memory with skip-free audio playback
Digital voice recorder
Multi-function seven-colour backlit LCD display with ID3 tag
USB V2.0 PC interface
Up to 12 hours play with one AAA battery (included)
Includes stereo earphones, neck strap, software CD-ROM, operating manual

pls tell me is 128 alot, like how many songs u think?
and the digital voice recorder, so i assume that if u put NO songs on it, ull have 128 mb for voice, buthow many minutes is that??
also, whats id3tag?
usb interface, is it just so u can connect to computer?, it CANNOT be used as a usb memory key right???

sorry if i sound out of tune with this high tech stuff, lol, but i just dont know, always just used cd's....

oh and last probably most important question....how do u physically get mp3 songs onto it?? can i use my limewiresongs(all mp3's) and just like iunno copy and paste or cut and paste onto the mp3 player??

ps. how many kb in a mb again, lol, i think its 1000kb=1mb ,and most songs are in like 2000-5000kb range, so thats like 2-5 mb? which means i can hold 64-20 songs ish??

thnks so much for ur help

128 mb won't hold a lot of music. Probably less than 50 songs.

i hear its about 32 songs
...but for 50 bucks it seems worth it...specially withvoice recording, which is what? lol and can it be used as a memory key?

so its like 2 cds of music...good enough i think, for my purposes

You sound like a whole bunch of confusion right now, lol. Luckily, you have me right across the hall, and I'm a real tech junkie.

Figure approximately 4MB per song (since the usual mp3's range from 3-5, depending upon bit rate and length). For fifty bucks, you can probably find a device with more memory. I know that for about $100 you can get 1GB (1GB=1000MB) in many different players.

While AAA batteries aren't bad, rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries are often better because they last longer and you don't have to pay for replacement batteries. On low-end players, however, they are less common because they raise the overall cost.

With your player, you will recieve a USB cable, that connects to your computer's USB port on one side and your player on the other. There's a chance that you could potentially use this player as a USB key, though it depends on the software and type of connectivity (it might plug right into your PC). I'd have to see the actual player to know for sure.

I have to run out now, but any more questions, feel free to ask.

if you are not going to jog with your player... get a hard drive mp3 player

<a href="http://reviews.cnet.com/Samsung_YEPP_YP_MT6Z__1GB_/4505-6495_7-31283823.html?tag=lst%5B/url%5D">http://reviews.cnet.com/Samsung_YEPP_YP_MT6Z__1GB_/4505-6495_7-31283823.html?tag=lst</a> cnet highly recommends it, specifically if you want to record lectures too. It's got a gigabyte of memory, and it'd be good for jogging too.

As long as you use windows they say...I guess it doesn't work for apple

thnks neighbour, glad to hear ur good at tech stuff, so with the one in my original post, can i like tape a lecture, how long?

another question, how do u actually get the mp3 songs on there? can i use my limewire to easily put it on there, and the whole thing doesnt exaclty have to be le gal right?
lol thnks all

nope doesn't have to be legal. plug it into your computer via USB and use the included software to move the music most likely

thnks all, u can let this thread die out now.

do not post after this

i know this one mp3 player with FM n voice recordin n 40 gigs thats only like $150.......and itll last u a Long long time with the warranty stuff. plus it looks cool n is a much better investment than your $50 thing which will run outta batteries when u need it the most.

The latest concern is having a "Janus Compatible Player." It allows you to use subscription services ($15 a month to put as much of a 1000000 song library on your player as you want). Kind of like renting your music. $5,000 to fill your player @ $1 a song would make for almost 28 years of music at 15 a month. And you'd be limited to 5000 songs one way, whereas you could change the albums on your player every day with a subscription. There are some limitations, but overall I think subscription services are the future of music.

As of yet Apple/iPod aren't compatible, but we'll see just how long they last before they offer their own version of subscription with an iTunes "to go."

I just got an iRiver H10 20GB for free via a warranty on my H120 (I sent it in 3 days before the warranty expired muahaha.)
