<p>Hello,
I will be attending Mpulse this Sunday for TDA, and was wondering if these programs are typically one year only. From what i've read on here, it doesn't look like people return for second or third summers. Is this the norm (I'm new to the precollege theatre programs)?
If people do return, do they have to re-audition, or are they grandfathered into the program?

<p>My daughter attended TDA last summer as a rising senior, so she would not be eligible to return another summer (she would have loved to – it was a great program!). Anyway, as I recall, TDA does audition/accept students of high school age, who may have additional pre-college summers. So yes, you could re-audition (every summer is a new one!) and return, if that is what you would want to do.</p>
<p>For my daughter, a part of summer pre-college was exploring a variety of program offerings – she also attended Oklahoma City University’s summer musical theatre program and Broadway Artists Alliance (mine is more of a musical theatre kid…but she wanted TDA to use to really concentrate on acting prior to starting her college auditions). There are many good pre-college programs out there. Some people enjoy re-visiting the same (because they loved the faculty, etc) or exploring other options.</p>
<p>Just an aside, though – when kiddo went to OCU, there were some kids there who had successfully re-audtioned for a second year. Although they loved both summers, they said it was strange – same setting, but mostly different people…</p>
<p>I hope you had a fantastic time at TDA!!! (Unless the policies have changed…know you are cell-phone and computer-free during the program, so enjoy reading this when you get home…and post your experiences!)</p>
<p>D attended the MPulse MT program last year and there was someone who had also attended the prior summer, so I assume it’s possible for other MPulse programs as well. </p>
<p>D just heard that cell phones will be allowed this year – just not in classes. If it’s true, that will be an important change for some kids! ;-)</p>
