I am getting my bachelors in accounting and am contemplating which grad school route i should take. Is it worth going for MS in accounting or just skipping to an MBA? I have read that many mba programs will count your MS credits directly toward your mba degree thus reducing the length of completion for the MBA. Anyone know anything about this? Also which MS Accounting programs are recommended/highly ranked considering many top schools do not offer this option?

Also would it look favorable that i have worked fulltime (40+ hrs/week bank manager) while enrolled as an undergrad (Top 40 univ. honors prog. 3.84 gpa 710 gmat)? Yea I have no life.

If you want to go into accounting, you should go for an MS in accounting (or at least take the necessary courseload to be eligible for CPA).

Your stats are good enough that you may be able to get into a top 20 business school straight out of undergrad (which is fairly rare). If your interests in business go beyond accounting try applying to a top school. However, if you don't get into a top school, don't settle for a lesser business school.

Your choice in accounting schools isn't nearly as important as one's choice in graduate business school. I know that U of Texas has the top program in the nation, but I don't know much beyond that. I would recommend going to a good school in the area that you wish to work.
