I received an email earlier about how a recruiter from the MS in Commerce program was going to come to Ann Arbor and after reading through it, I was very interested. I looked further into the program and found it might be a good fit for me but I'm not entirely certain.

I am a junior at the University of Michigan majoring in Actuarial Math but I'm not very far along it yet and might switch to Financial Math. I saw that there was a financial services track in the MS in Commerce program and was curious if I would be better off just simply majoring in Financial Math here at UM. Sticking with Actuarial Math and then going to UVA could also be an option but would it be kind of stupid to get that degree then immediately get basically a finance degree? How is a MS in Commerce viewed by others? I know Mcintire has a tremendous reputation but I never heard about this MS in Commerce before. Also, how competitive is it to get in? I'm pretty uncertain about what to do right now so any help would be appreciated and it would be great if any current or former students in the program could elaborate a little more on it. Thanks!
