NYU seems to be more recognized as a university. However I heard its engineering school (Tandon) doesn’t follow its standard since it was recently merged into NYU in 2015.
I know that faculties and peer students at NC State Engineering are brilliant since I graduated from there, however I know nothing about NYU Tandon, which worries me little.
Still the life in New York City allures me. I lived in NC suburb over 10 years, and I feel it may be a time for change.
Their curriculums are mostly similar, geared toward professional than theoretical.
Regarding job prospects and salary, NC State advertises 90% job placement rate and 110K average starting salary (130K if get in the state of New York) upon graduation with MS-CS. Is it also the similar case for NYU Tandon?
In some sense, I consider this decision to be: continuing my ways of life in peaceful suburb, around school and people I know vs. challenge (with excitement and danger) to truly new life in the city. And if it’s going to be a challenge, I want to make sure the school is worth it.
