Hey all,

I have searched this forum up and down and can't find any information on Admissions for the MSRED/MSRE programs in the states. As a background, I will finish my undergrad with a Bacgelor of Urban Development (Property Investment Major) from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. After doing a lot of searching on the net, I will have a 3.2-3.4 (approx) US GPA equivilant by the time i graduate in November. I was planning on applying to Grad school this year, or by 2011/2012 (23 at the moment and dont want to wait until im 30 to do a masters). Although I have had a lot of study in Real Estate (finance, valuation etc.), I want to learn a lot more as my course didn't encompass all there is to know about Development/Investment and all I want to do is be involved in property (not a number cruncher). And Brisbane is a small city, and Australia doesn't have the coursework available at institutions in the US and it would be an unreal experience be get a degree from the finest institutions in the world. I understand that a lot of these programs require some experience in the field and you don't need to sit a GMAT/GRE if you have experience, but it doesn't stipulate whether you should have undergrad experience or graduate experience. I've have had 4 years undergrad experience in construction/development industry and have done my own development that should finish at the end of this year so I have a decent understanding of the processes involved. I can also get some excellent LOR's from the faculty here including the head of property (who I now believe has left us for UIC) as well as some other professors and my supervisor for who has been overseeing my 12 month research paper.

Despite this, I would like to know my chances of getting into grad school and what i should be aiming at to get into grad school from anyone who has applied or who has been admitted and what steps I can take to get admitted. I'm wanting to study at Columbia or NYU in a MSRED/MSRE respectively, so if anyone has any information on these programs regarding applications/admissions that would be awsome.

Hope this isn't to brief,

Cheers everyone
