The tough question: should I attend MSU or Umich? In Umich LSA, and engineering at MSU
Accepted to both. I know this question is broad, but I just need some input. It’s hard to turn down an offer to go to Umich, but State is a great environment, and I keep hearing things about Umich’s competitive and pretentious environment that is turning me off. Not sure about my major. If I had to say, either engineering, med, or vet med.
UMich - i dont know where you heard it was competitive/pretentious. When i was there, i didnt get that feeling at all.
Thanks! Did you attend undergrad at LSA?
The students at Michigan are going to be, on average, quite ambitious and sophisticated. If that means “competitive” and “pretentious”, so be it. But you can carve you niche at a university with 28,000 undergraduate students, regardless of your own profile and preferences.
