MSU? U of A? International Student in need of help!

Ahhh, I don’t know how to decide to what college I should go too. Got accepted into my top three choices… MSU , U of A and Temple U. Im planning on majoring in a B.S of Biology with a Pre-Med pathway. Any tips on how I should start comparing each college ? I’ve looked at their ranks, class sizes etc. They are closely ranked, MSU being the better choice… But how can I really dig deep into each college to see my best fit ? I am very interested in doing A lot of research. Need all the tips I can get !

Which schools are MSU and UofA? Mich State? Miss State? UAlabama? UArizona? Something else?

^+ did you get into the honors college anywhere?

Sorry guys! Did not realize the acronyms were so vague! Michigan State and University of Arizona!

Your #1 criterion as a premed would be cost. Your #2 criterion would be whether you got into the honors program at any of these.

Fortunately tuition cost is not a issue, and the three colleges have about the same cost. I did not get into any honors program.

University of Arizona is not for you if you study a lot. U of A is a mid range university for the average partier.

I just realized that you want to be premed and are international… When it’s basically impossible to study medicine for an international in the US.
What else would you study?

Of course I can have a pre med pathway being an International student. Im planning on majoring in B.S Biology and later applying to medical school.

Err, no. You can’t apply to med school as an international. Most American med schools don’t accept applications from non Americans. Some are okay with the applications but only if you have 200K in an escrow.
You can of course major in biology but the career prospects are really low.

I live in Arizona and know U of A well, and I can say it is for an above average partier - it is definitely a party school. I also don’t know if you have looked into location at all, but Tucson in my opinion is not really a great location, it is essentially a lot of dust and for august and into September the heat is ridiculous. If you are not into big parties, you may not find many other social options at U of A, but if you are into that its a fun school. If you have any other questions, let me know.

More like $300k+ in escrow upfront.

Really, the chances of a non-Canadian int’l getting into a US MD med school are very slim. US med schools are for educating future American doctors.
