bad post

NYU, both Tisch and Stenhardt, have always posted emails on the last weekday before April 1. Everything NYU is loaded into the computer, the registrar pushes the ‘button’ and everything goes. They make it a big deal and post it on the NYU website. When you’re dealing with that many university acceptances, thousands, it IS a big deal!

Not an audition school, but did anybody else get an email from UC-Irvine this morning saying that application status has changed and to check the portal? If so, did your portal actually change? There’s nothing different on D’s and no decision there.

Strangely, that was happening at UCI in all majors last week… They’re probably sending out emails before finishing the portal updates. Keep checking.

Ah, okay - thanks so much, @Flossy!

Just need to rant a bit here- American was supposed to start sending out letters this week, but the school is closed today because of the snowstorm. Arrrrrgh!

BALL STATE UNIVERSITY

Acceptances: All students accepted to the B.F.A programs have already received a letter in the mail and a personal phone call.

Wait-list: Wait-list calls are on-going and are still happening through the end of march.

Theatrical Studies: The theatrical studies B.A. and B.S. program at Ball State is a vigorous program that allows students the freedom to “create their own” degree in the department of theatre and dance. This is a wonderful option for those who want to explore more than one aspect of theatre and also for those students looking to re-audition for the B.F.A programs in Musical Theatre, Acting, and Dance. The Theatrical Studies Option takes voice, acting, dance, and an audition class all to prepare the students to re-audition at Ball State and at any other University. Many students that stay within the Theatrical Studies Option choose to explore other aspects of theatre, like casting or playwriting. There is phenomenal support and freedom from the department for Theatrical Studies Options to create their own degree and mold their education at Ball State into exactly what they want. Theatrical Studies Option students are in the casting pool and are often cast.

Ball State follows the national acceptance date of May 1st.

Does anyone know if Marymount acceptances are small envelopes or big envelopes? Received a small envelope from MMC with Theater stamped on the outside. D won’t be home till much later. Holding it up to the light does not help! Ugh! She has an academic acceptance so I’m hoping small envelope is not bad news. She auditioned March 8th . I’m surprised we received a letter this fast.

My D got accepted and that is exactly what the letter looked like. But not sure if they send out both yes/no’s the same way. Hopeing for good news for you!

hoping…not hopeing!

@allin18, my daughter was waitlisted and that is what the letter looked like also. I also hope for good news for you!

My daughter was accepted and it looked like that too! Best of luck!!

Have all the Elon calls gone out?

Just got this from my D’s coach. CMU is making calls THIS WEEKEND for acting and mt.

Thanks @addicted2MT!

Elon decisions are up on the portal as of midnight.

@allin18…don’t keep us in suspense…what was the letter from Marymount?

Sorry! It wasn’t great news. Waitlisted. Guess it could have been worse. I don’t remember how they work the waitlist. I know every program is different; some rank, some have alternates, etc. so I’m not sure what the chances are of getting off the waitlist.

.

@allin18…Waitlist is good news…it’s not a NO!!! Good luck to you and your D!

Thanks! She has 1 acceptance so far- Uarts and she was very excited because she loves the location and program so I can breath a little easier. Honestly, she is handling rejections so much better than I am. We are waiting on 4 more- ugh! Counting the days, hours, minutes till May 1st and this is over!!
