Does anyone have experience with this program? Any thoughts about how to make the most of it?

Um, I’m not personally in the Mt. Oread Scholars program, but the gist of it is that it’s a freshman program for good students that will help them enter the KU Honors Program at the end of their first year (or semester, I’m not exactly sure). There’s a lot of networking available, which will be really helpful for freshmen who don’t know exactly who’s out there, and are interested in meeting people in related (academic) programs. Also, I think they make an effort to help introduce students to available programs at KU, like helpful resources and stuff like that. Overall, I wouldn’t turn it down, if I was made an offer. It’d definitely be worthwhile. Also, FYI, offers go to top students who weren’t accepted initially into the KU Honors Program.
