MT Rejections

Baldwin Wallace, CCM, Penn State say no. Had a callback at unifieds for dance with Penn St. – regine S

yes, I have seen many videos of Belmonts program. They are definitely not as well known and very underrated. I’m probably going to end up going there.

And I auditioned for roosevelt at the Chicago unifieds. That sunday and monday.

Sometimes the underrated ones are the best!

Just to also mention… I know that reading “you only need one” is hard for the family that doesn’t even get THAT. Know that there are many ways to reach a dream. My D was one of the ones that didn’t get in the first time round. She explored, worked and actually had to try 3 programs before she found the place for her. She has now finished a program and is now auditioning and was offered a job with a children’s theater within a month of starting auditions. No yesses is not the end…

Uarts rejection today.

I wish I could give credit where credit is due but I can’t remember which thread I picked this up from. I gave it to my son to help keep him centered. I think it is a fantastic message and wanted to share it with all of you here:

“You will end up where you need to be. The school that sees your potential and accepts you will train you best. A school that says “no” is not right for you at that time. Don’t try to take control of the process - do the work and let your path be chosen for you by the schools’ answers.”

Good luck to all.

“It’s not where you start it’s where you finish, and I’m gonna finish on top!” Two For the Seesaw

Got my Ithaca rejection today. Auditioned 2/4, I’m pretty sure.

Sorry SoSo! My D knows how you feel!

Ithaca rejection!

My major of interest just changed to “English”. lol That was a lame way to find out. :/

Did you select that as your second major of interest? Or did they just assign you the major?

I put it as my third choice major. I mean, I’d never go for it since I have UCI’s awesome theater department, but I figure an acceptance is better than a rejection so I always put down English as a back-up major. lol :/

Sassy - so sorry! Thanks for sharing your rejection decisions with us. It’s comforting to know we are not alone and you have to think positive. It only takes 1!! Keep smiling :)

Ugh! I keep getting all these academic acceptances!! I’d like some program based ones too. This all just makes me wish I didn’t want to be an actor so badly - I’d be getting into some good colleges if our MT programs weren’t so tiny! lol Emerson today - here’s hoping!!

sassystage - Hang in there, it will all be over soon! Believe me when I say I know how difficult it is because my D was right where you are last year. It is very hard to get the academic acceptances and in my D’s case a lot of scholarship money to a school and then not be accepted into the MT program. You will grow from this experience and a year from now you will be happily learning at a school that wanted you. This is the case for my D who is living the life she always dreamed of one year later!

So were you accepted to UCI theater department sassystage??

D got a rejection. She didn’t want to go there so I guess she will be okay with it. Me, I want her to have as many choice$$ as possible!! A liberal arts degree sounds perfect right about now lol!

Good luck to all.

Yes! I’m in at the UCI theater department. And not in at Emerson. asdkjaskldjalskd! At this point, I’m about ready to just send in my deposit and sign up for housing in Irvine. Still waiting on Pace (MT and Acting), Syracuse, BoCo, CMU (as if!), BU, and USC. How quickly the list has dwindled away!! UCI, here I come. lol

Congrats sassystage!!! See we told ya :)

way to go, now the pressure is off… Enjoy and celebrate

I just got rejected from every school I auditioned at. Anyone else in the same boat? Feelin’ pretty cruddy right now :(
