Muhlenberg chances

Senior in HS and I plan on applying ED to Muhlenberg in about 1 week.

My average HS GPA: 2.8 ( i know very weak)

However, this 1st quarter, my GPA was a 3.2 with nothing lower than a B-

I am not sending in SAT's

My guidance counselor knows admissions people at Muhlenberg and my school has a good history of kids getting in there.

I think my improvement this quarter was drastic from previous years

I recently had an interview at Muhlenberg and I will be shadowing for a day to show how interested how am.

I stay in close contact with an admissions counselor at Muhlenberg which I feel is good to do

I have a strong Common App essay with a strong grades paper instead of sending in the SAT

What are my chances? I REALLY want to go to Muhlenberg and they know it.

Please help guys

I think just by your stats you have a solid chance at getting in. Plus you said they know you want in so that’s a definite plus. How was your interview? When I went, I got the impression that it was a very personal environment so your efforts to be noticed will never be in vain. So keeping in touch with them is always good. Good luck :)

Thank you! I think the interview went pretty well and she seemed to like me.

That’s nice! The only person I really know there is Kim Nguyen haha she’s so nice.

Do you really think a 2.8 average GPA with a 3.2 first quarter grade this year would be good enough?

I think it’s a decent chance. And from what I know muhlenberg doesn’t get tooooo many applicants with incredibly high stats

What major did you choose?

I plan on going into Finance

Nice! I’m applying there for the b.s./M.D. program so even if I get in there, Drexel med school still has to accept me ahhhhh

Hey Zach! You don’t mention any outside activities or sports or volunteer involvements, was that just an oversight on your part? Most small LAC’s like Muhlenberg are looking for the “whole” student who is going to bring something to campus life. It could be a newspaper columnist, a club leader, a volunteer activity you would want to organize on campus, an actor, an athlete, an emt, something that enriches campus. If you have something that you are passionate about you should make it known to your admissions counselor. Best of luck to you!
