Muhelnberg is on my daughters radar as potential school that does not require an audition…again (i posted something similar about another school)…just trying to be sure, but it sounds like auditions are optional for entrance, but required for scholarships? Is that correct?

Thank you!

That’s correct. Anyone can enter as a theater arts major, and you only have to audition for the acting/voice/dance scholarships. I just auditioned today actually.

Thank you, Xcityofdreams!

I hope it went well for you! Good luck!

Right, an audition is not required for acceptance. However, there is an optional audition and that is required for scholarship consideration. If applying, I highly recommend doing the audition. It can’t hurt you really to do so and can only help. Also, being a small liberal arts school, they value applicants visiting campus and expressing interest in the school.

PS, please be aware that just because a school does not have an audition, it doesn’t mean it is a SAFETY school. SAFETY schools are determined in relation to EACH applicant’s qualifications, compared to the qualifications of admitted students and the acceptance rate to the college. Muhlenberg is a safety school for some kids, for example, but not for other applicants.

One other clarification. It is Muhlenberg College, not University.
