<p>The only difference was that I was female and he was male. Just put your heart into your application. And the school with 22 people here this year was a very competitive one in New York.</p>
<p>I went to a super competitive school of <80, and we got 3 people accepted ED. </p>
<p>Somewhat related to your concerns, a double legacy from my school who scored 2350+ on his SATs, 800s on his subject tests, and was very active in the school community, only received a guaranteed transfer. In other words, anything can happen in the admissions process.</p>
