Multiple SAT attempts

Hi!

Does multiple SAT attempts hurt your chances of getting into Ivy? If so, is there a list of colleges that consider all SAT scores (v/s the best one)?

Thanks!!

Offhand, Georgetown for sure does this. There are probably a few others, but fortunately, most allow you to self select.

Here is a list of schools that require all scores to be sent: Colleges Requiring All SAT Scores Sent: Complete List

Some notable schools are Cornell, Georgetown, Rice, and Carnegie Mellon.

One should not rely on 3rd party sites, including College Confidential, for info without verification from the college.

Prepscholar is wrong. Rice, Cornell, and CMU do not require all scores, although CMU and Rice encourages it.

^ good advice. Yale used to require applicants report all scores but that may have changed. Check websites of the colleges you’re interested in for the most accurate information.

It did. Years ago. Many colleges used to require all scores, but those dwindled along with colleges requiring Subject Tests and SAT with essay before the CB discontinued

Appreciate all the responses!!!

One question along a slightly different line: Is it still recommended to keep number of SAT attempts low to improve Ivy chances? Thanks!

Ivy League schools gave no idea how many times one took the SAT unless the applicant or high school tells them

How many times one should take the SAT should not be based on what an Ivy will think.
