Music at Goucher

Goucher is pretty high on my list but I was wondering what their options are for music (for a science major). I play piano and would like to continue but I don't want to major in music. Is there a way to do this at Goucher?

I would say yes. My son is finishing his freshman year and has loved it at Goucher. He plays the violin. He has thought about being a music minor. This past semester he took private lessons for credit, and feels he has learned alot. He is hoping to audition for the student orchestra. There is alot of help creating your own path at Goucher. I also read your other questions posted. Are you a senior in HS? My son recieved the Dean’s Scholarship and has to maintain a 3.25. He works pretty hard. I am sure that there are students that slide through without working much. But if you want to challenge yourself, you will find plenty of opportunity and professors to work with you. As for the gay scene, I don’t know specifics, but Goucher has an accepting, open and welcoming vibe that you have to visit to understand. I have been told there is a large gay students population. My suggestion would be to schedule an overnight visit in the Fall and see for yourself.
