Music composition competitions for college age

Hi, I'm a fairly new member and thought I'd ask if anyone might have information on
competitions for music composition college age students in the U.S. We've done some internet searches but have not found anything.
Thank you so much , I sure appreciate your help.

Competitions never seem to end for composers, fortunately, or unfortunately. American Composers Forum’s Opportunities page is a good place to start: [American Composers Forum | Upcoming Opportunities](http://composersforum.org/opportunities-upcoming)

Thanks, SpiritManager! That is a helpful forum. I’m encouraging my son to become a member of that forum .

Here is a thorough list from the Walden School site:

[Competitions, Awards, and Calls for Scores](Competitions, Awards, and Calls for Scores | The Walden School)

If the link doesn’t work, you can google “Walden School composition competitions.” The list comes up first. They keep a running list of competitions, awards and calls for scores.

ASCAP is one almost everyone seems to submit something to…but there are so many others…

Here’s a new one, just posted via e-mail: [Alexander Zemlinsky Prize for Composition, University of Cincinnati](http://ccm.uc.edu/music/cmt/zemlinsky.html)
