I'm sure it wouldn't, JB, as there are always general ed requirements. But the Tulane catalogue is available online, so you can easily go see for yourself. Better yet, since you're admitteed now (yay, you!), why not go to the source and contact an advisor at Tulane? Answering questions like this with accurate information is their job.

Congratulations and the best to you!

thank you ctymomteacher! I'm excited about being admitted, but music courses are definitely a focal point for my decision :P

congrats jeremybeach

thankee...hey, sorry about the other post lol. i must have taken it way too personally.

yes you did, but its okay i look forward to seeing you at tulane...did you commit yet? what did you say to miami?

In that case, you should definitely contact someone at Tulane and get dependable info about what you'll be able and required to do during your first year and each year thereafter. Remember that the catalogue under which you enter is a binding contract. So you really do want to know what's up for certain from the people who have the answers.

city mom can u send me the link to the online course catalog please? thanks.

Sorry, the one I have on my desktop is the 2003-2005 catalogue. I have it because it's the one that was current when my son was accepted. As an accepted student, you should be able to get to the current catalogue, I think. Because of Katrina, some rules and requirements have definitely changed in the new catalogue (and others that I don't know anything about have also changed, I'm sure), so you need the new one for sure.

Core curriculum requirements are found under Newcomb-Tulane College; music is under School of Liberal Arts

thanks ct2010 dad, do you know where i can find all of the courses and course descriptions? i'm probably overlooking it on there.

I found one paragraph course descriptions first by clicking on the link to the left for each College, then by clicking on a program of study - which brings up the listing for that department. I know there is a master listing of all the courses (which includes times and instructors), but that might be for when you actually start registering - for which you need to log in with your student ID.

Tulane Jeff might be able to help here.

I believe the catalogue should have a complete listing of courses offered but bear in mind that not all courses are offered every semester and a few might be offered infrequently. You can see the Fall 2007 offerings here
