Has anyone taken and passed this? I understand that it involves identifying some pieces. Also, there is are various written questions.
1) Are any of the pieces obscure or are they limited to well known classics?
2)Any advice or comments on the written questions

I had no idea there was one...but even as a classical music junkie I am definately choosing to take this class. They tell us to go to concerts...c'mon, there is nothing better than that. Plus, any class that involves music is pretty damn awesome.

except if it's too basic for you. . . if it's like Bach was a baroque composer, and Beethoven wrote 9 symphonies, and the dominant leads to the tonic. . . and then you'll be like argggh

I'm gonna pass up, because I'm sick of waiting for things to get hard, and I have the AP 5, and I'll take any test they want me to take

Wait, is this music hum or for music theory? I got a 5 on the AP Theory exam and am already placed into Theory II.

Jono, I'll agree with you if they ask questions like what era was this composer in. That might be worth getting out of...hmm...

yeah, because realize most kids in it don't know classical music. . . it won't be advanced enough if you know a lot about classical music already

Very true...hmm...I'll call tomorrow to see what is going on with that.
