<p>Not that this is a determining factor, but how good is the music scene at Duke/Durham/Raleigh? Do at least a few good bands come every year? Are they easily accessible to attend, transportation-wise?</p>
<p>I'm a music-geek and will probably be attending Duke in place of living in Austin, one of the best music places ever and just wanted to know if I can release my music loving-ness.</p>
<p>Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro has some pretty good stuff, especially for less-mainstream music.

<p>If you’re want to stay on campus, there’s plenty of performances (Jazz at the Mary-Lou, Coffeehouse concerts). And if you’re into mainstream stuff, there’s bigger names that come by campus as well (Matt and Kim (I <3 them!!) came last semester; KidCudi was here last week; Sean Kingston will be at UNC (10 minute shuttle away) this Sunday; Jay Sean’s coming for LDOC, etc.). </p>
<p>No matter what you’re into, if you really care about it and dig around, you won’t be disappointed by the music scene. :)</p>
