Is anyone trying out for the presidential music scholarship? If so, do you know about the competativeness of it? I am an avid chorus member, and I sing solo occassionally. However, I just started taking voice lessons this year and, therefore, I am not sure if I am trained enough. Don't get me wrong, I do have musicality, but I just don't know if it's worth trying out for....

You should definitely try for it. It's $15,000 per year for 4 years. What do you have to lose? The competition depends on the applicant pool each year. You have chorus experience and you have some voice lessons under your belt. Find out the exact requirements for audtion day and work on your presentation with your voice teacher.
