<p>Is LMU outstanding for music? I wan´t to major in a BA emphasizing in piano.</p>
<p>My D will be a sophomore at LMU, she is a music minor, piano, and a film production major. She is a long time piano player, accompanist and jazz, not a classical fan. She had one semester of lessons, I noticed a significant improvement, but she hasn’t had formal lessons for years. Minors only get two semesters of lessons before they have to pay extra, majors are required to have four semesters, may take more. She really likes her lessons and instructor.
The department is small, limited instrumentation, and certainly not famous. Having said that, she says there are lots of very talented musicians at LMU. Take a look at the music department at their website.</p>
