My DS applied to Montclair's Musical Theater program 5 weeks ago, and got a confirmation that application was accepted a couple of days later with a pin to check his application status. It was the first school he applied to. On the Musical Theater program website it said to wait for an invitation from the department to schedule an in person audition. There was no pre screen required.

Since that time my DS has applied to 9 other Musical Theater programs, including 7 that required prescreens. He has passed all his prescreens and has scheduled auditions for all the schools that he has applied to...except Montclair, the very first school he applied to.

We checked the status of his application through the link that they sent us when they accepted is application and everything seems to be in order.....except that he has not heard a word since. His guidance counselor contacted the admissions office 3 weeks ago and was told that the application was in for review. Still nothing.

Is this normal for the school? Or is he just not going to get an invitation to audition? Won't they contact him either way? He has passed all his pre screens for other schools and he is a B+ student.

Any advice?
