Rider Musical Theatre BFA requires a prescreen.
I recommend waiting until the schools post their updated information about prescreens. Rider started a prescreen last year. More schools may follow suit this year so hang in there:)
@theatremom10 is correct-most schools haven’t updated admission/audition info yet. Baldwin Wallace is the only school on your list that had their 2018-19 information up, and they are not implementing a prescreen this year. We are also trying to get an early start on aps!!
@MTdreamin - good idea. We waited far too late to start. The first step is to chose material. You will need at least two monologues plus possibly a classical monologue. You’ll need to pick two to four songs. If you’re going to get a coach start with them now so they can help you with those. It really helps if you get the material down solid before you start filming - a lot of the different flavors of pre-screens are really just different cuts of the same material.
SUNY Fredonia has now instituted a pre-screening requirement for its BFA’s in MT and Acting. I believe this is the first year for it.
@techmom99 it was a prescreen last year too. I am not sure when they started to require it. Seems more and more schools are going this route
Millikin is requiring a prescreen for the upcoming audition season
Boston Conservatory is requiring a prescreen
^^^and be SURE to check websites frequently - some schools will update just after Labor Day.
