I am currently a musical theatre freshman. I am hoping to transfer to another university Spring of 2020. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions of colleges to transfer to for musical theatre as well as advice on the musical theatre transfer student process. Thanks!!
@MusicalMadness24 this was posted under the Musical Theatre Schools thread instead of in the main Musical Theatre forum, so I think no one has seen it. Are you currently in an auditioned program? If you are, you understand the audition process. If you are not, and want to be in an auditioned program, you will need to go through the audition process for schools. Do you want a BA or BFA? The large majority of programs make you start over as a freshman in their MT classes. While gen ed credits will most likely transfer, each MT program is very individualized and most want their students to go through all 4 years of their own program. Are you unhappy with your current training, the school overall? If it’s the training, can it be supplemented where you are without transferring? There are other options for training - see the threads linked below for a lot more information! Also, scholarships for transfer students are generally very limited, if finances are an issue.
Ask questions in the general MT forum, the more specific, the better. There are lots of people with a lot of knowledge who are happy to offer advice! Best of luck to you.

Search the MT forum for “Transfer” or “Transfers” and you will find more information. If you post under one of the already opened threads, it will bump it to the top. Here are a couple & there are more:
