Musical Theatre

Hello everyone!

I am currently a senior in high school and I am dealing with what I want to major in college.
I am very interested in Musical Theatre. Do any of you know good schools that offer this major? I'm trying to stick to the east side of the US.

Also, I am also interested in International Business and want a school that offers that as a major as well. In case I change my mind about Musical Theatre, I want to have International Business there in the same school so I don't have to transfer somewhere else. Does anyone know good schools with well-known Int. Business programs that also have what I stated above (MT)?
Thank you!!!

James Madison University in VA has both of these majors. A double major in these two would take more than 4 years.

Full admission to the College of Business (COB) is contingent upon application after completing a series of COB lower division classes, so a student interested in this possibility would likely want to start those courses in freshman year along with Musical Theatre program coursework and general education courses.

Ball State University, located in Muncie, Indiana, has a wonderful Musical Theatre Major as well as an International Business Major and minor. As a current member of their musical theatre program, I would also agree that double majoring will take you more than four years. But I know people with the passion that have done it.

From our website:
"The Musical Theatre Option requires 85 semester hours of credit. Thirty-two (32) hours are dedicated to Departmental core curriculum. In addition, fifty-three (53) hours focus on advanced courses in acting, dance and music. Students receive instruction in voice along with an accompanying master class, several courses focusing on musicianship skills (sight singing, piano, ensemble singing, etc.), various levels of acting (including courses that focus specifically on the singing actor) and all applicable styles of dance with the genre of musical theatre… All seniors have the opportunity to audition for the New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago Showcases. "

Our program is very open with students transferring majors or minors, we understand that college is the time to explore and eventually hone in on what you would love to do for the rest of your career. I hope this helps! If you have any more questions about Ball State or musical theater don’t hesitate to ask!
