must move out of res halls within 24 hours?

ucsd says we have to move out of the res halls within 24 hours of our last final. how strictly is this enforced? do they actually have people going around to check that we've actually checked out within 24 hours of our last final and fine us if we haven't moved out within that time period? or do we just absolutely HAVE to move out by Saturday 6/13 at 6pm (at least for Muir students) to avoid extra charges?

can anyone shed some light on this?

usually don’t enforce it too much (ha’s and people from reslife do walk around, though)

youre still liable for any charges, though.

it’s like drinking–most of the time you won’t get caught, but if you do, you can’t blame anyone but yourself and you can’t weasel your way out of it

you can get an extension to stay till Saturday. But I think that’s the latest. I’m pretty sure they start checking on Saturday.

if you don’t check out WITHIN the first 24 hours, you will get charged. As for moving out, its up to you. If your roommate is still there, I don’t see any problem in staying a little longer.

It’s tough to get an extension.

so then what exactly defines the 24 hour period? Say my last final is on Thursday at 8am-10:50am. Does this mean I must check out by Friday at 8 am or at 10:50 am?

10:50.

10char

thanks for all of your input!
