my act scores don't help my major

hi so I am very worried because I want to be a science major very badly and I've taken many science classes in and out of school, clubs, awards, research, various programs demonstrating I love science

but my act math and science are low compared to my reading and English which are both 36

this frustrates me and I feel like colleges would not like this and think "why isn't she an English major?" I've gotten good grades in science and it's my passion, I just can't do exceptionally well on that particular standardized test I guess.

what do you think? :(

What were your M and Science scores? The SR portion of the ACT isn’t really a science test.

Are you applying to colleges where you have to select a major? or can you be undeclared?

Oh good heavens…on another thread you posted that your composite is a 35. Therefore your M and SR scores can’t be bad. What are they? 33? 34?

^ yes two 33s I’m probably being ridiculous asking this, someone told me that if I’m a science major then they’ll take out my English and reading and only look at math and sci, giving me a 33 then.
and I am applying as a humanistic biology major

Stop worrying about this. Your HS grades are much more important than your test scores. And a 33 is excellent .

First off, with a 35 ACT, you should stop worrying. That’s a super competive score (even with a 33 on the science section).

Secondly, although colleges ask about your intended major, the majority of colleges do not hold you to what you wrote down on your application, as they understand that most students change their major at least once during their 4 years of college.

Your acceptance, deferral or rejection will NOT hinge on your test scores – but will be decided by other factors in your file, such as your transcript, essays and teacher recommendations

I think you will only see a thread like that in cc. People worry with an ACT of 35. LOL.

Bill: I’ve seen worse. A dude talked about how he was gonna retake his 2390 to get 2400. He did and eventually matriculated at a school other than my alma mater. Whew!
