long island - i guess one more day to wait - but I have the new tab

Small nit. The existence of a financial aid tab (and deposit tab) has been “completely reliable” over the past couple of years (based on cc postings). The absence of such tabs could just mean that admissions is not done with processing that specific app, and positive news could still be forthcoming. (In prior years, BC has processed and mailed letters over several days.)

I have pay enrollment confirmation AND the financial aid award notification tabs. I didn’t have these until this morning. This has got to mean I have been accepted.

My last name begins with the letter S.

I am estatic right now.

Can someone please clarify is the pay enrollment confirmation in the first column and the financial aid tab in the second box, or also in the first column? Thank you for your help.

Pay enrollment confirmation in first column - financial aid tab in the second box - Other Services is the heading for the 3rd box and feedback submissions is in box

Thank you. I see that was posted in the other thread, so sorry for the repetition. Has anyone who’s received their acceptance via mail posted that they have these tabs? That would be enormously helpful.

sorry to tell u guys but my friends who didnt get in just told me that they have the tab as well so that must not have anything to do with who got in or didnt get in…

do you guys think there is a difference between the “pay enrollment confirmation fee” and the “financial award notification” tabs? i mean, i could see that financial award tabs may appear for anyone and everyone, but “pay enrollment confirmation fee” tabs are pretty good evidence of acceptance. i dont see how that tab could possibly show up for anyone who got rejected; at least, thats what i think/hope haha.

no i agree with bobbruno, one of my friends had the tabs yesterday, but it must have been a mistake because BC took them off this morning, so i don’t know if it means anything

Dear foxysoxy804 : In response to … “I have pay enrollment confirmation AND the financial aid award notification tabs. I didn’t have these until this morning. This has got to mean I have been accepted.” This seems like excellent evidence of your acceptance. Extremely happy to see this news on the board for you!

Dear mem0019 : Enrollment confirmation fees are your $500.00 deposit to secure your spot and accept the invitation to join the Class of 2014. Financial aid awards will be delivered via the other tab. History shows that entries like confirmation fees are a pretty good indicator of acceptance.

i apologize if this sounds rude in anyway, but from what i see, you (celticsfan) and bobbruno1 have been commenting on all the same threads and mirroring what the other says. quite honestly, i’m alittle suspicious that you two may be intentionally saying such things merely to builds upon everyone’s already unbearable nerves and anticipation. i could be wrong, which is why i apologize if this is wrong/degrading in anyway, but it seems like you two are saying these things for cheap thrills. in the past, these tabs have always been positive once they have popped up (from what i see in boston college threads). there has never been a case, until now, that someone has said they had the tab but did not get in…there have been, however, cases where someone did not get the tab but got in.
i don’t know, but you two seem a little out of the ordinary with everything you say. once again, sorry if this is wrong/rude.

Scottj - Did you see Celtic’s and Bruno’s posts above? Are they just messing with everyone or is it possible that the links could be a mistake and not mean anything?

scottj: thanks for shedding some positive light on this! i’m truly hoping this tab is a good sign for me!
i checked the mail, no packet. but i have the tabs…so hopefulllyyyyy

Dear Cc2425 : Celticsfan has now 8 posts, BobBruno1 has now 5 posts - all of these postings started just about when announcements might have been forthcoming. Are these postings real? Actually, I have no idea, but one would be well served to be cautious as to what (a) new poster(s) without a track record is reporting. On some level, that is part of the college experience : deciding fact from fiction, devining truth from rumor, and being able to discern credible news from tabloid “facts”.

My questions regarding these posters is to wonder why an application from Wellesly, MA with a three way score in the 1800 range would find acceptance in the EA round, particularly for a CSOM applicant. Honestly, we have never seen numbers that low in the EA round in the three previous years here on the board.

Based on previous years, the presence of these tabs is in fact a leading indicator of acceptance. The batch processing of acceptances actually begins the process of enrollment and all enrollments/payments are done through the Agora portal.

In closing, as we have said, all of the decisions will be known in a week or so. Hang in there everyone and hopefully those of you still waiting for an acceptance followed our advice to have those regular decision applications already geared-up for mailing.

@ bobbruno & celticsfan: are you saying that your friends have actually been rejected or deferred and that they have tabs, or they just haven’t heard anything yet? (snail mail can be slow even to your next door neighbor…)

mem0019, I don’t think you’re wrong to be suspicious, which is why I posted last night, “sounds fishy.” What sounded fishy was that these two guys, celticsfan and bobbruno1, all of a sudden, at the end of the night, post that they’re in. They just registered for CC and those were their first posts. The only two people on CC, all day long, and they post at night that they’re in? And not to be too rude, but c’mon. Look at the “stats” they posted–do those look like stats for BC early action admit? And now they’re posting that the Agora tabs don’t mean anything? Really mean of them, and I assure you, as someone who graduated from BC over 25 years ago, totally unrepresentative of the kind of people who go to BC.

And they know it.

Dear mem0019 : Keep the faith! Again, be sure that your secondary applications are being handled - best to keep working until you have that acceptance packet in hand.

(Side note : One of the best ways to test the enrollment tab theory is to try and make the down payment for admission. Go up until the final step of actually submitting the cash. Seems that if you make it to the point of the VISA/MC transaction being cleared, it is a pretty good bet that BC has a place for you!)

Dear bluebayou and RBSH1958 : If you do anything with computer forensics, you can see a few interesting things about these two new posters. First, both started using CAPS and then reverted to using completely unpunctuated lower case. Second, both posters have a unique typing style using the format “<char>…<char>” often in their writing. Third, notice that the posting of scores/results uses the same format of just four lines despite another thread having been started using a more complete format. Finally, most postings come within approximately 20 minutes of one another. None of this really matters for an individual’s acceptance or deferral, but these observations do cast some credibility questions over the postings’s content.</char></char>

Scottj: All that happens when I enter the pay enrollment fee tab is that the application status page (with all of the materials received, etc.) comes back up. So do you think this means that these tabs do NOT mean acceptance?
