so, I have two opportunities to take AP exams, this May and the next. I did want to take 3 APs this May but I've realised I just won't be able to finish studying Euro History in time - I'm only up the Peace of Westphalia.

so my plan for this May is to take AP French Language and Comparative Govt. and Politics.

next year, I'd like to take English Literature + Language and Composition, Euro History, and an economics exam.

that would give me six APs, which I think is manageable. okay, okay so I know that only I can say if this is a good plan for me - but still, I'm international, self-studying and I don't know anybody who has taken/is planning to take APs so I need you guys to help me out a bit :)

six APs should be fairly impressive, right? this is assuming I get 5s. I did want to do more, but I just won't have the time what with my courseload, plus these exams are expensive and I still need to take a few SATs...

yes, I'm a junior now. but with AP scholars, do I have to take three exams at the one time to qualify? I thought the exams I took this year and next year would be able to count for that...

Well no. You might want to get the AP Scholars award before you apply to college, so they will see it. Otherwise it would be pointless for the award.

Wow self-study 6 exams..good luck! If you want to add an AP this year so you have a chance at AP Scholars, I'd suggest taking English Language this year. There really is no way to study for it, other than memorizing literary terms. The rest of the studying for that test is just practice exams. Good luck!

okay, I'll try to clear something up. I live in Sydney - the school year here is different. I'll start my senior year next February, and apply to start college in 2008. so I would be taking AP exams before I applied to college, which I hope means I could get a scholar award. oh well, I'll be happy if I just manage to take all the exams - and do well of course :)
