My APUSH teacher is ridiculous!

So like I stated above, my APUSH teacher is absolutely ridiculous. Every week he assigns us like 3-4 homework questions that must be answered in 4 or more sentences AND for each question, we must provide 4 historically relevant terms which I would use to further support my answer and give one sentence for each term on why we would choose this term to strengthen our answer. He does this BEFORE lecturing which is pointless because me and my class can learn the concepts of these questions in class rather than wasting extra time at home answering the questions by ourselves. When he lectures, he does it by powerpoint for one day or two but the powerpoint was merely facts. His explanations from his voice were good but I’m not allowed to tape record his voice. The remainder of the week he would give us more homework and make us learn history in discussion based form with classmates. Worst of all, we have a test every Friday. The point is, I have so much homework, some important tests and quizzes to study for, after school activities, working out at the gym, and I need an adequate amount of sleep but it’s impossible to succeed in all of these in just one night. My APUSH teacher treats his students as if they don’t have other important things to do and just gives a lot of work that makes me spend less time on studying for tests and therefore, my test results suffer. What should I do cause I have a C in this class now?! Btw other classes I’m taking are:

English 3 (11th grade English)
Precalculus
Chemistry
Psychology
Spanish 3

If I were you, I would seek out review videos before your tests. I always just used Quizlet, but you seem like you’re more of an auditory learner.

My S is in APUSH and it is by far his toughest in terms of workload. I think that’s just the way it is for the class. Is it too late for you to switch into CP or Honors USH?

My son had the an insane amount of work in APUSH too. The guy ran lunchtime sessions and gave serious weekend work. My son got a 5 on the AP exam I personally thanked the teacher for his dedication to his students.

If you don’t want to do that much work talk to your GC and get out now.

If it’s hard, maybe drop to regular? Though honestly the questions don’t seem bad, but I wouldn’t know, and the class seems like a typical AP class in my opinion. Are your other classes APs or honors and/or do you have lots of extracirrculars? If so, then perhaps re-evaluate what you have time for and what you don’t. If you believe you can raise your grade up, then stay in the class and just work hard. If you don’t think you can, I would switch to regular. Hope this helps!

I live on this stuff

Your class honestly doesn’t sound that difficult–it sounds like a normal AP class like a user posted above. Perhaps you should drop APUSH if it’s proving to be too much work for you.
