Well I've been looking into Northwestern alot recently, and it has really interested me. I don't like making too many of these threads but it would be awesome if I could get some perspective on my chances and more importantly, advice on how to improve.

ACT: 35
SAT II's:Math 2c 800 Chemistry 770 Bio 760
GPA - 3.7-3.8 UW - hardest courses possible at a very tough school
EC's: Lots of volunteer work mostly, nothing special. About 2 significant leadership positions.

I also have a couple of minor internships.

I think as of now, northwestern would be a match, but I understand they have an honors program too. How am I looking for that? And do they have an undergrad business, or is it economics?

And most importantly, are there any suggestions? Does NU place emphasis on certain aspects of the application more than others?

Your stats are awesome, as long as your essays and recs are good you should be a shoe-in (although it's never certain). There is no undergrad business major but there is a Business Institutions minor offered through Weinberg (not Kellogg). Economics is the route usually taken by students interested in business and the department is excellent (it's the most pouplar major in Weinberg if I'm not mistaken.)

Write good, interesting essays and try to highlight your ECs as much as possible, you should be good to go.

I'm so jealous about your ACT score. How did score that high? What prep. books/material did you use?

Haha, I actually didn't prep much for the ACT at all. I guess the test format just suited me or I got lucky (probably the latter considering I did much worse on the PSAT's).

Anyways, a couple more questions I'll just add. are there any honors programs at NU besides the med. education?
Also, how hard is it to double major?
And, how is the pol. science department?

And also, does anyone know if NU tracks interest?

It isn't hard at all to double major thanks to the quarter system, tons of people do it (I'd be willing to say a majority of people in Weinberg, but don't quote me on that).

I'm a poli sci major here, and so far I'm very pleased with the classes I've taken. They've been interesting, straight-forward and I feel like I've learned a lot. The advising in the department isn't that great, you don't get assigned a specific advisor (you just go see whomever is available at a specific time).

What is the quarter system? Essentially the year is divided up inot 4 quarters instead of 2 semesters?

my friend was rejected with a 35 and a 3.8...so be sure to have a safety school...

Well...in reality, its really a trimester system. There are 4 quarters- Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Most full time students do not take courses suring summer quarter. So in a way, quarters is misleading.

Northwestern has a number of different honors-type programs (HPME, Integrated Science Program), but not one specific honors program.

i think as long as you can write decent essays and have good ECs you are in. If you apply early, I'd be surprised if you didn't get in.
